The decanter on the left looks more attractive to most people.  The decanter on the right kind of looks like a Koolaid pitcher.  How did it even get into your cabinet?

It got there because someone was tired of using the one on the left.  Tired of the last pour spilling onto the table.  Tired of trying to wash it and struggling to dry it without spots.  And mostly because the narrow neck didn't allow their wine to breath.

Not only is the one on the right much more user-friendly and more wine friendly, it has character. 

Character is a good thing.
